I have been at Wallace & Co quite a bit this week, breakfasts, lunches and dinners. There is a new wine list there as well which I am very pleased about and a couple of new dishes on the menu. It just seems a bit difficult convincing people they can come in and have a drink as well, but you can you know, just sit down, and have a beer, a glass of wine and chat with your mates.
I had possibly one of the best photo-shoots I have ever had, it was for Weight Watchers. At one point I was in a very sexy boat on the Thames, the next minute I was floating fully clothed on a Lillo in a heated pool. My life, I ask you!
Wednesday was fantastic; I was a guest of my friend, Mick McGee to his box at Royal Ascot. There’s a nice picture of me and my pretty girlfriend in the Daily Star and in the Star on-line. What a great day. I had 2 winners, it is such fun. What I didn’t realise is that when the racing is finished, there is a band of guardsmen on a bandstand and there’s an hour’s worth of sing-alongs! I didn’t leave Ascot until gone 8.
Then I had a few days working up in Scotland, near the famous old golf course of St Andrews. It’s a new series on BBC2 will be coming out in the summer. I can’t tell you anymore but I seem to be up in Scotland quite a bit lately. I like it, I like the food, I like the people and I love the whiskey.
All eyes now on the British Lions, many of you may not know that I’ve actually got 2 rugby coaching qualifications. We are rugby nuts in our house. Come on The Lions! Sorry John Torode, but we are out hunting wallabies.
