Stunning dinner at Le Gavroche this week, it remains my favourite. Food so gorgeous you could bath in it and some of the best front of house to be found anywhere. It’s not cheap, it’s not supposed to be, it’s a celebration of fine things and I love it.
I actually managed to bump into Michel this week. Monica and I, along with Marcus were on The One Show. Afterwards Monica and I skipped across the road to the Roux restaurant at The Landau Hotel and the great man was there. He didn’t drink, apart from a glass of fizzy water, Monica and I did though, and washed it all down with a rather nice pork chop.
I started filming an Eat Well for Less Christmas Special this week. I love that show, it is such good fun and great to work with my mate, Chris Bavin again, big old lump that he is.
I was at the Wooden Spoon Rugby Ball on Friday night, such a worthwhile charity and I am very proud to be an Ambassador. Very good also to see so many international rugby players, past and present and always lovely to have some time with Phil Vickery. Great rugby player of course, top chap and MasterChef winner.
This weekend I am having an “Evening with ….” at The Bull at Great Totham. If you’re going, see you there, if I’ve done it already, hope you enjoyed it. If you’d like to attend one of these functions, keep an eye on my website.
On Sunday I will be at The Ideal Home Show, Manchester which this year (for the first time), incorporates The Cake & Bake Show. I’ll be wandering the stands, munching cake and chatting to people and I’ll be in the Gregg Wallace Restaurant as well, perhaps sipping the odd glass of wine.
Next week I am visiting Indian Restaurant, Darbaar for the first time. I’ll let you know how I get on. I am attending an exhibition at Greenwich Maritime Museum which I am really excited about and I will be hosting another Gregg event at The Wiremill in Surrey.
