Well I am definitely back from holiday and the pace has certainly picked up. There was of course the final of MasterChef and all the press interest that surrounds that. I did really enjoy my appearance on Loose Women.
I did pretty well on the dinner front this week, I had a lovely visit to St John’s in Clerkenwell, I haven’t been there for a while. Had a fabulously outstanding dinner with my girlfriend at Royal Hospital Road, that place really is a class act. I also had a fun evening at Joe Allen’s, haven’t been there for years but a couple of mates of mine have bought it and are looking forward to bringing back its glory days.
I also dined at my own places this week. Gregg’s Bar & Grill down in Bermondsey really comes alive when the sun comes out. We have got so much outside seating, I am really hoping we get a better summer this year than last year, because the warm evenings down at Bermondsey just produce a party, night after night.
There are big changes at Wallace & Co in Putney, my new mate and business partner, Annabel is now in charge. She used to run Smiths for John Torode, this lady has talent. The service has improved, the menu has improved beyond recognition and I am now about to invest in a refurb. The deli counter is going and in its place will be a bar. Coffees and cakes in the morning, beers and wines later.
