I have been away for almost 2 weeks, filming a new series. Can’t tell you what it is yet but it’s been busy. Filming started at 8 and finished about 6, so I didn’t even have time to tweet properly. Also, I’ve only managed to get home for half a day and I’m off again to film something else. I’m not complaining; I love making television.
I can’t wait for you to see this programme; it’s about food production on a huge scale. I suppose you could say it’s about feeding a nation. There are quite a few of us on these Islands and we now fully expect to walk into a shop, any time, night or day and get our hands on basic foods stuff that are affordable and safe to eat. What I am going to show you is what it takes to provide that. It’s massive!
Hope you all watched my mate Torode travelling through Argentina. I haven’t seen it yet but reports back say it was fantastic.
Next week I will be in Norfolk having a quick look at sugar beet, I enjoy looking at food production, it’s just a shame some of it grows in fields in the middle of winter.
I have also got a meeting with a chap that makes white wine in Burgundy, I’m not exactly sure what he wants to discuss with me, I’ll let you know. But quite frankly who cares, he makes white wine in Burgundy.
I’ve got one lunch coming up that I’m very much looking forward to, it’s The Colony Grill. It’s been open a couple of months and I haven’t managed to get there yet. I will let you know what I thought of it.
