I had a marvellous time at the Chelsea Flower Show. I was a guest of Harkness Roses and You Garden. These wonderful companies between them have developed the little Sid Rose that gives £5 on each one sold to the Charity Ambitious about Autism.
Chelsea is a fabulous place to visit and I was really fortunate to be there on press day, and for a party on Tuesday evening when the crowds are gone, and I could really take stock of the beautiful designs.
On Monday this week I had a truly wonderful lunch. I lunched with my good mate Peter McDermott in a place called Socca in Mayfair. It’s just around the corner from Scott’s. It does absolutely divine provincial cuisine. If I go again, which I will, I’m going to eat all the starters as if they were tapas. Oh, and by the way, they have a really good selection of wines by the glass.
