Well, it’s been a lovely week. It started with a non-stage chair at the Taunton Brewhouse that I very much enjoyed. Thank you to those of you who attended, I had a wonderful time.
Then a big adventure started when Anna and I flew out to the beautiful island of Bermuda. It’s my first visit. I had no idea how beautiful it was, and I had no idea how lovely the people were.
I stayed at Grotto Bay and really enjoyed it. It’s quite basic. It looks possibly a little dated. However, the food is good. The people are just wonderful. It’s got a pool with plenty of space and it’s got its own stretch of beach with more than enough lounges and room for everybody, I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed it.
From Bermuda, we picked up the Cunard ship Queen Elizabeth. It’s from the balcony in my room that I’m writing this. We are crossing the Atlantic and getting off in Spain.
It’s very elegant, the food and wine choices are great and the sunsets and sunrises are just magical.
I’m giving two talks here in the theatre which should be fun as many of the guests are American and have no idea who I am. Still, there are enough people from the UK and I just have to explain to the Americans as best I can.
