Great week last week – on Wednesday I drove up to Leicester to have a long chat with a lovely lady called Julie who is also head of nursing at Leicestershire Health Trust. I’m going to be embarking on a project to help nurses. I’m going to take 6 to 8 nurses and work with them as a group and one-on-one to make sure they feed themselves with good easy nutritious food to be healthy, lose weight and save money.
I’m going to be filming these interactions on simple mobile phones with steady cam handles and putting the results on social media so you can watch with interest.
I also met with an old mate of mine, Jaqueline Hurst, who is an incredible life coach and I want to bring her expert help into GreggWallace.health because so much of successful weight loss is about attitude. Not willpower, not portion control, not exercise, but organisation and attitude.
I was invited to the cricket at the Oval on Wednesday evening England against Pakistan I attended with an old mate Andy O’Sullivan who at the moment is employed rebuilding Olympia. Andy O is a very interesting man.
While I was there, I met up with Adam Handling, fantastic Chef of Frog and other venues. He was also in the final three of Professional MasterChef 12 years ago. We shared some champagne and some whiskey and discussed food trends and art, there is so much more to that man than I ever knew. Can’t wait to share a Glass with him again.
Carrying on the social theme, I had a lunch on Friday that was just wonderful. John Torode and I don’t socialise that often – we had a wonderful lunch at the Guinea Grill, off Berkley Square and it was just lovely to sit there and wine and reminisce over our 30 year relationship. Good on you John, you’ve been a big part of my life for a long time.
