Another fantastic dinner this week at Le Gavroche. A stunning consommé with smoked meats and pickled vegetables was a joy, followed by veal and veal kidneys. There is no place like it, it really is superb. Indulgently it was followed the next night by a jolly good supper at The Colony Grill. A whole artichoke to start and another piece of veal as a main, finished off with an affogato.
I was in Somerset this week filming a new series of Harvest. Thank you very much to the very good people at The Double Tree Hilton. Fantastic gym there by the way, what they need is a Gregg Wallace café specialising in healthy foods. I was up there looking at mushrooms. What else can I say?
Next week starts in Yorkshire, I am looking at the food culture in York and Leeds and I am very very much looking forward to it. I also start filming a new series of Eat Well for Less, very much looking forward to that. I will also be attending the Malvern spring festival, never been there before and I’ve heard very good things about it. I then finish the week with an afternoon with Gregg Wallace at The Connaught Theatre, Worthing. Please don’t throw things!
