Professional MasterChef has started and is doing very well. You see, I told you Marcus Wareing could smile! I am sure you will agree with me, the guy is doing very well indeed. Top work Chef.
I had virtually a week off (because I hardly ever have a week off) and I did swimming lessons twice a day. I was able to swim but I just wanted to be better at it. It was such a brilliant thing to do. There’s a friend of mine, Mike Greene, who suggested every year you should take time out and give yourself a fresh challenge, so I did that. My breast stroke is now incredible. My coach, if you are interested and live near me in Whitstable is Vicky Whorlow of Oyster Bay Swim School.
I was on Loose Women this week with my mate Monica, I do love that lady. I know you see a fierce side of her and I do too, but that is the professional Monica. The personal one is so very different, kind, loyal and giggly.  Monica really does have a professional and a very different personal face.
I had a wonderful dinner with my girlfriend at Sheekeys. That place is a class act, if you’ve never been, it’s like stepping into a bygone era. Hidden in a corridor of St Martin’s Lane in the middle of Theatreland. Wonderful fish restaurant with old World values and charm. Drank a little too much but there you go.
Tomorrow sees me visiting The Ideal Home Show at Manchester. Bit of a drive for me but I love it up there. If you are going, I’ll see you in the Gregg Wallace Restaurant.
I’m at a charity function called Scanappeal next week, I’ll be basically having a chat, hosting a Q&A and showing everyone how to prepare and cook squid. To be honest, I got the recipe of my mate Monica, but it is good.
Later next week, I, my mate Rob Kirby and the wonderfully talented Tom Kerridge are off to see The Specials. We look like a bunch of skin heads! Should be great fun, dinner in a pub nearby and then a bit of Ska dancing.
Next weekend I will be at The Ideal Home Christmas Show in my restaurant. I really fancy having a glass of wine with everyone but I’ve got a feeling I might have to drive. Still, if you find yourself in the food hall or in my restaurant, do come and say hello. You never know, I might even ask to have my photograph taken with you!
